Right to Education

Supported by:

An all-Wales specialist educational, advocacy and support service targeted at ethnic minority children and young people.

Right to Education (R2E) project is an all-Wales specialist educational, advocacy and support service targeted at ethnic minority young people aged 11-19*. We can support young people who are experiencing disputes with their schools, including school exclusions. The project aims to support young people to have improved access to their right to education.

What we can do:

• Provide young people and their families with information and support around the disciplinary, exclusion and appeals processes.
• Advocate on behalf of young people, including representation at governors meetings or appeals panels.
• Provide signposting and referral to legal support from specialist children’s legal centres and educational lawyers.

*Please note: Young people in primary school may be able to access the service. We offer support on a case-by-case basis to young people.
