ABOUT EYST
The EYST Journey
EYST Wales is a unique award-winning organisation that began its journey in 2001; conceived of and founded by Momena Ali and then constituted as EYST with a group of young ethnic minority people in 2005.
Since then we have expanded and grown organically and always in response to the needs of the communities we serve; from supporting ethnic minority young people to families and individuals of all ages Wales wide.
Our aim is to provide ethnic minority people with the opportunity to reach their fullest potential through holistic, targeted, and culturally sensitive programmes covering education, employment, health, community safety and cohesion. All underpinned by a vision where everyone can contribute, participate, and thrive in Wales.
Thanks to a range of funders, EYST now employs a team of over 70 staff, based across Wales in Swansea, Cardiff, Newport and Wrexham. We also have an active and growing volunteer team of over 100 volunteers.
EYST is the proud recipient of the following awards:
Top prize for 'Most Admired Organisation' in the WCVA (Wales Council for Voluntary Action) Third Sector Awards Cymru in 2015
Investors in Volunteers Award in 2015
'Best Third Sector Employer' in Chwarae Teg's Womenspire Awards in 2016
CWVYS' (Council of Wales Voluntary Youth Services) Quality Mark for Workforce Development
Awarded Trusted Charity Status in March 2022
