Family Link Project

Supporting ethnic minority young people and their families who are facing multiple challenges in their lives

Supported by:

What is it?

The project is delivered by Family Support Worker Jorna, who works as part of Swansea’s Team around the Family approach, utilising multi-agency support and resources.

What the project offers?

Project staff can work with ethnic minority children, young people or any family member using a whole family approach. They can provide advice, advocacy and one-to-one support to clients with a range of issues including bullying, racism, cultural conflict issues, parenting, domestic violence, or any wellbeing need. Our project workers offer a culturally sensitive approach and understanding which can help lead to an improved outcome for the young person and family, as well as providing valuable advice to service providers.

Who do we work with?

We work closely with a range of statutory and voluntary services in Swansea including schools, colleges, social services, the police, youth offending services, pupil referral units, and more. Referrals can be made by an agency or clients can also self-refer for support.
