Young Females

EYST Young Females Project has been running since 2009 when EYST expanded its constitution to also support young BME females. In order to remain culturally accessible to our target group, all of our services remain single-sex, and we have seen that there are many advantages to providing services in this way.

The Young Females Project has been mainly funded by Swansea Development Fund, as well as by Comic Relief Sports Relief who funded a part-time Sports Development post. The key services provided are culturally sensitive mentoring, one-to-one support and guidance, in-school support via lunch-time drop in services and school liaison, family liaison, and referral and signposting.

The Young Females Project also has regular activities including healthy living activities such as Zumba, as well as socialising and educational activities such as the Sunday Chill Out and Homework Clubs.

During the school holidays we often arrange outings, and recent trips include Oakwood, Chessington Adventure Park and Green Street, London.
