Resilience Youth Forum

EYST’s Resilience Team held their Youth Forum on the 21st February 2018 at the Butetown Pavilion in Cardiff. The forum aims to provide an opportunity for young people to meet with officials to discuss and learn about topics important to them. At this youth forum, the topics discussed were Stop and Search, policing and PREVENT, and healthy relationships. Police representatives Hannah Jenkins-Jones, Lynwen O’Hagan, and Akbar Ali led mini-workshops with the 59 young people present (who came from across Cardiff and Swansea and from a range of diverse backgrounds). The feedback from the event was positive, with lots citing they felt more confident and more informed about issues such as “sexting”, their rights when stopped and search, and the nature of the PREVENT policy and how they might encounter it as young people. Resilience Forum Report
