EYST win Outstanding Youth Centre Award in Wales

We are very pleased to announce that EYST has won the Welsh Government’s Outstanding Youth Centre in Wales Award 2011!!!   EYST was presented with the awarded, at a ceremony in North Wales by Welsh Assembly Deputy Minister for Children, Huw Lewis AM. The Youth Work Wales Excellence Awards have been created by the Welsh Assembly Government in conjunction with the Local Authority and Voluntary Youth Service to recognise and reward young people, youth projects and youth workers’ innovation, dedication and hard work and highlight the vital work they do to transform young people’s lives and help ensure that they have a better future.

EYST won due to the unique role played by our young people in actually building and refurbishing the centre, while also getting training, as well as the high standard of the centre itself. We are delighted that the work of our young people, volunteers and staff has been recognised nationally, and we hope that winning the award will inspire us and other young people to continue to be active members of the community, aiming high.
